ASH & CHANI'S BRIXTON EAST 1871 WEDDING

I’ve been really looking forward to sharing this one with you!

Ash & Chani contacted me at the end of last year to ask if I’d photograph their wedding. Their plans were really exciting and we hit it off straight away!

The venue they had chosen was Brixton East 1871 which was the ideal space to bring their fabulous creative vision to life.

Arriving in a traditional Hackney cab, Ash was dressed in a stunning white suit while Chani wore sleek black leather and mesh; the perfect balance of yin and yang harmony.

Their details were out of this world; the walls throughout Brixton East 1871 were decorated with vibrant neon signs courtesy of the awesome God’s Own Junkyard, and a close friend had painted a beautiful wall mural highlighting all of the special moments in their relationship. A handcrafted backlit photo montage was also on display containing fun images of all of their guests which caused everyone to stop, stare and smile.

The steps of the grand wooden stair case leading up to the main ceremony room were covered in the lyrics of Snow Patrol’s "Chasing Cars", and once inside the main space, Zena Birch led a heartwarming humanist service during which the happy couple’s family and guests were invited to sing and read passages.

And once the knot was tied, Ash & Chani’s departure was celebrated with a spectacular explosion of colourful confetti!

During the afternoon we spent time on the streets of Brixton capturing some cool urban portraits, and later on their perfectly choreographed first dance was followed by a rocking evening party which went on to the small hours of Sunday morning.

A truly fantastic day with endless love and laughter, but don't take my word for it - just scroll down and see for yourselves!
